KC4/KL5SE Antarctica….

Just received good news from Andrew KC4/KL5SE.

He’s currently travelling South for a new scientific campaign in Antarctica! Just like last year, he will be visiting three field camps, very rare spots for ham radio.

After a stopover at the U.S. McMurdo Station, he will head to Windless Bight, and will also visit Mt. Newall and Bull Pass. As time allows, he will also operate the ham shack in McMurdo as KC4USV. He will be active (using the callsign KC4/KL5SE) from each of the three camps using the following setup: FT-710 transceiver and either a 20m or 80m EFHW antenna.

Wishing Andrew great success on this new expedition, where he will be in charge to maintain the hybrid power systems at the IS55 infrasound station at Windless Bight and the PS50 Vanda seismic station at Mt Newall and Bull Pass. Operation dates will be shared soon regularly. See you on the air very soon, Andrew!
