Mapleham is our interactive self-study companion for the Canadian Amateur Radio Basic Certification, with chapters matching the official 2025-revised exam structure alongside RAC’s Hamstudy Basic 2026.
Using the site is free, no login required, suitable for self-study, study groups, or instructor-led classes, presenting key concepts as expandable slides with explanatory detail, diagrams, and mapped practice questions drawn from the official question bank.
We also use this site during our in-person classes.
You will find several other free online resources for self-study and many amateurs pass the exam each year studying at their own pace at home. Using multiple resources helps explain topics in different ways.
RAC also offers Basic and Advanced online courses on a regular basis.
