INTENSIFYING SOLAR ACTIVITY: Another CME might be heading for Earth following an M1-class solar flare on Aug. 15th (1436 UT). NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the explosion from southern sunspot AR3078:
A pulse of X-rays from the flare caused a minor radio blackout over the Atlantic Ocean: blackout map. Frequencies below 15 MHz were affected for less than an hour around 1500 UT. Stay tuned for updates about this event.
