On the occasion of Princess Elisabeth’s eighteenth birthday, from October 25 to December 25, 2019, more than thirty UBA club stations will use the special prefix OR18. The UBA also offers a commemorative Award.
Since on the higher HF bands (30 meters and 20 meters) it is sometimes somewhat difficult for Western European radio amateur stations to get the various OR18xxx stations in the log, the UBA has decided on Sunday 15 December and also on Sunday 22 December to be extra active on the 80 meter band.
It is always a Sunday which will allow most people to work a lot of special event stations.
The participating UBA club stations are:
OR18AAA, OR18BDX, OR18CRD, OR18BXE, OR18DIG, OR18DST, OR18ERA, OR18GTM, OR18HCC, OR18KTK, OR18LGE, OR18LLV, OR18LUS, OR18LVN, OR18BT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT, OR18NT , OR18PHI, OR18RAT, OR18RSX, OR18SNW, OR18TLS, OR18TRA, OR18TRC, OR18TWS, OR18UBA, OR18WLD, OR18WRA, OR18WTO as well as OR18ZTM.
With the exception of OR18DIG (UBA DIG diploma friends) and OR18UBA (national UBA station), the suffix stands for the three-letter abbreviation of the participating UBA section.
In addition to the above stations, OR0YAL (which you can read as O Royal) will also be active during the activity period from 25 October to 25 December 2019.
