The 19th Antarctic Activity Week (AAW) will take place this week between February 21-27th. All Radio Amateurs (OMs and SWLs) around the world, Clubs and Organizations as well as other important groups and individual operators World-Wide, are invited to join and share with them in this initiative. Apply your special AAW’s callsign, get a WAP reference and jump into the competition. Some operators have already signed-up to participate. See the following Web page at: The WAP’s intention is to draw WW attention to the Antarctic Continent, and the AAW is a unique event World-Wide (WW) where Hams (in any corner of the world, and not necessarily in Antarctica) wish to celebrate and improve World-Wide interest around the Icy Continent. Purpose of the A.A.W. is to increase world wide interest around Antarctic Continent and its related matters with the aim of staying close to the researchers and personnel who are spending their time away from home and families studying the Antarctic life and its secrets. An additional purpose is to share what Nations and Organizations are doing to protect this still non contaminated corner of the world, and to share a WW message Stations announced as of February 18th [Special Callsign (WAP Ref#/QSL)]: OPDX |
